Watering tank?

Last week either May 1st or May 2nd I looked out the kitchen window and saw this metal structure by Walter's corral.  Had no idea what it was so went to investigate once his owner went inside.  It was a huge watering tank (do not know if that is the correct name) that he brought home using Walter's horse trailer.

Have I mentioned it has been awfully hot here lately?   These were temperatures last week.

Last Monday May 5th the sun was blaring and yet his worthless owner had this metal thing next to his corral generating even more heat for the poor horse!  I am surprised he realized it and moved the thing farther away but in my opinion not sufficient enough.

Here is another picture I took on Friday.

The worthless teenager now feeds him at 9:02 p.m. or thereabouts,  since I happen to be out at that time watering the trees he makes a lot of noise so I will hear him, lol.  I guess he must be watching a TV show that ends at 9:00 p.m.

  1. Hmm, reading a few entries here, I wonder - have you considered calling animal control or someone in charge of things to help Walter?

He's a beautiful animal for sure and you are a kind soul to help him.

    1. Hi Sissy, welcome to Walter's blog. I know you are new so you are not aware that this has been an ongoing problem for years.

One of the reasons I started this blog was so I could have a place to document it and hopefully the proper authorities would do something for him.

Val Verde County, Texas has no animal control agent or facilities due to budget constraints. Only the City of Del Rio...and they will tell you real fast that they can not be bothered with horses or other animals other than cats and dogs...and only if the problem is within the city limits.

I have personally gone to the Sheriff's office on two or three occasions (I can not reacall...darn CRS) and explained the situation to them along with pictures to back up my case.

The last time I went the sheriff's deputy was...to put it politely "an asshole"...who pretty much made it clear he had other issues to deal with like solving crimes and he had no time to pursue animal issues even though this is a clear case of animal abuse.

It is a real shame but there is absolutely nothing more I can do but feed and watering him on my own,
