No water in two days

Saturday I was about to walk over to the corral when I looked out the kitchen window.  It was that kid believe it or not...locking up Pacquiao (their family dog) in the horse trailer for the second day in a row in the heat of the day, with no shade or water.

Sunday as I was about to head over to see him...I saw the father and his kids playing ball by the church, so had to abort my trip because I would be detected.  I figured they would get to Walter after they finished but they never did.  I came back around 11:00 p.m. and noticed that the new neighbors who moved into the vacant house next to theirs saw me feeding and watering him...I am not too concerned about them.

This morning as we were headed to the hospital his water barrel was down.  When we returned his water barrel was up.  Went to investigate and the only thing the kid had done was pick it up.  It has been in the three digits and he has not had water provided by his heartless owners in two days!

I fed and watered him this afternoon as well as this evening but I am concerned that all he wants to do is EAT...he drinks very little water.  My mechanic told me that unless he is de-wormed all I am doing is feeding the worms and very little goes to Walter.

I really can not take on that job, that is something only his owners can do.  Besides what good would it do to de-worm him if he continues to eat his own feces?  His owners never even bother to clean his corral.

They say Karma is a bitch, I hope it comes back and bites them in their rear end for what they are doing to their animals, grrrrrrrrrr!

Pacquiao was locked up...

Post for Friday - July 26, 2013

Friday I went to get the car from the garage which is located in the lot close to the corral and drove it up front.  Kept on hearing all this ruckus coming from that area so went to investigate.  It was Pacquiao (the family dog) that had been locked inside the newer horse trailer and he was having a fit!  He was trying to climb out and almost choked himself.

I do not know what he must have done to deserve this but you  do not lock a dog up in a hot trailer bed with no shade and no water to speak of.

I could not get close to the fence because on our side of the property was where Mata Gatos (mother's worthless handyman) put all the old wood, scraps and roofing from the old garage he tore down to rebuild the one we have today.

I got on top of an old cinder block and was glad to find that the horse trailer flooring was made of wood and not metal or I would have called the police.  Was going to call them if when I got back from town he was still locked up.  Figure a lot a people may not relate to a horse being without water and in the heat...but they might if it was a dog and besides I am getting pretty tired of that darn kid....grrrrrrrrr!!!

Walter did not seem to be bothered by all the commotion as he ate and I could tell that his water barrel was at least half full.

I do not know if Pacquiao got out on his own or if the kid released him but he was nowhere to be seen when I got back home.

A Man Without a Word

I am not surprised at all that Walter's owner did not bring him over this weekend.  Someone as worthless as he is can't be expected to actually be a man of his word.

With my mother being sick, I have not been able to take care of Walter like I would like...but as much as I feel for his plight...my mother comes first.

Tonight was the first opportunity I had to go check up on him and it was not good.  His corral is a soggy mess from all the rain we got Sunday afternoon, his rain barrel was empty and the kid did not feed him until 9:30 p.m

Note the white water hose dangling and no water barrel.

Water barrel had been downed by Walter and all
the kid did was pick it up.  It is no where near the water hose.

Every time I go out to hang clothes or to open the gate he sees me and does his horse sound to get my attention, it just breaks my heart!  There are so many mosquitoes out there and I am sure he is being bit.  It is a real shame how he is treated.

Sunday Chit Chat

Post for Sunday - July 14, 2013

Sunday afternoon I saw the kid and his little brother playing soccer in the church parking lot.  Later their father Ramón (not his real name) joined them.

I had bought Walter's horse pellets a few days back but had not had the chance to cut open the 50 lb bag and place its contents in plastic containers...with my bad back there is no way I can lift that much weight at once.

Ran out of containers so what I was doing since his owners were outside was dumping his pellets on the ground so I would not be seen feeding him and they thought he was eating poop as that never seems to bother them :-(

It was already past 9:00 p.m. when I went to scope out the area so I could offer him some H2O.  Walter's corral is on high ground where our lot is on low.  As I was headed there I saw that Ramón was by his corral and had already seen me...so had no alternative but to continue heading that way and greet that horrible man.

I was so surprised he was actually standing by his water barrel filling it up and making sure it did not spill over.  We made idle chit chat and I asked him when he was going to let Walter come graze on our property. He said he would probably bring him next weekend...do not know if he is a man of his word of not...sadly, so few men are these days...but that is what he said.

Bonding Time

I have been neglecting Walter this past week.  I usually go check on him every two or three hours and I pet him and we have nice talks.  Or at least I talk and he listens.

This afternoon after I got back from town I came to offer him some cool refreshing H2O.  Was not sure if his barrel was full or not but even if it was full it was probably hot.  He drank six gallons.  When I was coming back with his last gallon, I noticed he was eating poop :-(

You have no idea how it affects me to see him do that.  Went back and brought him some pellets that he gladly consumed.  Offered him more water after he ate but this time he only drank half a gallon.  Petted him some more and went back home.

Late this afternoon went to take him some more liquid gold and I noticed he had downed his barrel...no wonder he had drank what I brought him!  Had to go water the trees on the north part of the property and when I came back at 8:49 p.m. someone had filled his barrel.  So much so that it had spilled over.

The also gave him some hay.

My little guy seemed content :)

Thank you for visiting Walter's World.

More of the same

With the plumbing problems and mother being ill...I have had my hands full these past couple of days.  Besides it was the weekend...time that his owner who works a very weird work schedule...is usually at his house.

Last night we got back home late...but there was still enough daylight left that I could tell from the street that his water barrel was down.  I came to see him after 10:00 p.m. brought him water and his supper.

This morning...well more like 11:43 a.m. the barrel was still downed and no sign he had been fed.  I did however see the kid walking his bike down the road but without his little brother.  Wonder why he was not riding it but most importantly why he did not bother to feed and water Walter before he left.

Came home but could not find his pink container so I grabbed his green water container and used it to feed him his pellets.

After he ate his pellets he agreed to drink some water...silly horse!

I kept an eye on him and brought him a couple gallons of water throughout the day.  It was not until after 9:00 p.m. that someone finally fed him and filled or at least stood up his water barrel...will not know until tomorrow.

Plumbing problems benefit Walter

Was up early...actually I never went to bed...but that is another story.  Opened up the gate and then went to check up on my little guy after all the darn fireworks last night that went on until almost 2:00 a.m.

He seemed fine and was calm.  It was too early to be able to tell if his barrel was filled or not.  Yesterday afternoon the fireworks started earlier than usual and the smell to gun powder...is that what it is called?...was too strong for me to be able to stand it.  Therefore the trees were not watered but I had the foresight to have done so in the morning.  I did have the hoses in place in case they were needed.

Wasted no time while it was still relatively cool and watered everything including the weeds because I know people are going to continue popping firecrackers all weekend and I can not take a chance on some of them coming down on our property and starting a fire.

While I was outside I saw the kid jog by the house and then saw him stop and give Walter a tiny portion of hay and some horse pellets but again I could not tell if he filled his barrel.  We are having some plumbing issues and while I was outside my mother was holding down the fort inside...so I hurried back home.

The plumber said they would be here between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the mean time I was filling up gallon milk jugs to keep from wasting this precious liquid.  It occurred to me to offer Walter some...if he declined I was going to use it to water the only good tree we have in that lot...to my surprise he lapped it up! Brought him three more gallons and he did the same.  What a shame that his owner, his wife and the whole family were there but not a single one of those worthless jackasses could find the time to turn the spigot on...amazing!!!

He ended up drinking 9 gallons before he went back to finish his food.  For Walter food is the priority not water so I knew he was thirsty.  Went back inside to take a shower and to tidy up the bathroom before the plumber arrived.

Got a call at 4:39 p.m. that the plumber was not going to make it because they were running behind from calls received on the 4th of July but would be here tomorrow morning.  Said they were tied up most of the day digging up a sewer line.  Darn it all...but what can I do?  This is not mother's worthless plumber...I called a reputable plumbing company that has been in business for decades.

With that unwelcome news went to try to get Walter to drink more of the liquid gold that I was collecting and he obliged.  This time around I noticed that the barrel was not in the same position and that Walter had probably downed it but all they did was stand it back up :(

Late this afternoon I again went to water the trees and weeds but no one had fed or watered him.  The kid and his brother were riding bikes around the block and in the church parking lot until pretty late this evening.  As a matter of fact the little one got honked at because he darted out in front of a car.  Wonder where the parents were at?

After they went in I brought him his supper.

July starts on the wrong foot

As I have mentioned before I try to stay away from the corral on weekends because that is when his owner is in town and the kids are outside.

Was going to go check up on him this morning but noticed that the man's truck was in the driveway so I desisted.  Around 1:00 p.m. I was outside and Walter started making his horse noise and trying to get my attention.  Went to investigate since his owner's truck was gone.

His water barrel was down and he was agitated.  Came back with his green container and one gallon of water that he immediately drank.  Because of my bad back I can only carry one gallon at a time or at the most two gallons.

When I was coming back with his fifth gallon saw the truck pull in but not to the driveway...to the side of their house closest to the new shed he built.  I saw both kids get down but they did not see me.  I let Walter finish drinking and came back home.

I was so angry and wondered how long he had been without water.  I bet after filling up his barrel Friday they never filled it back up again....grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Just like last week, he has not wanted to eat his hay.  Maybe my mechanic is right and it has gone bad after months of sitting in the sun and getting wet...as this is his "prop hay"...to keep the police at bay.  For some reason he is now feeding it to Walter.
