Raking leaves with the boys help

Ordinarily today Wednesday would be trash day but since it happens to be Christmas I think we will have trash pick-up either tomorrow or Friday.  I will take my clue from the neighbors since they seem to always be on social media and thus "in the know".

So like it or not I had to tackle raking the leaves in the backyard to fill up the trash can which monthly cost is more than what we pay for water and sewer combined.  Of course, the cats came out of their hideout to give me a helping hand...NOT!

I do not know why they like to play with the rake and shovel.

They had recently eaten so thankfully they soon ran out of energy.

The morning started out foggy but by noon the sun came out and warmed up to 69 degrees from the morning low of 57.

Since they would not move from the pile I had raked last week I raked more leaves from another part of the yard.

There is never a shortage of leaves around here. This year has been strange as these leaves are dead but still are hanging on despite the strong winds we had last week.

Finally, Paquito settled down and let me work.  Poor guy, he works so hard he was dead tired!

Thank you for visiting Walter's World.

  1. I see most of the pictures are clearly identified as yours, has there been a problem?
    Just curious.

    1. Back when I first started my main blog I would always get my Chili Cook-off pictures stolen in particular those I took during El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and some from the actual cook-off.

One guy went as far a copying my pictures in the same order as I posted them on my blog and putting his watermark on them. A reader left me a link to this guys Facebook page. Since he got caught he took them down on his own.

As you know I am "technologically challenged" so I have no idea how to put watermarks on my pictures. This year I used the carton from cereal boxes on the 2019 Chili Cook-off pictures I liked to keep them from getting stolen.

I have not had any problems with pics of my boys being taken. When I insulated the outside pipes with pool noodles I had left-over pieces and I used one to protect the cats from getting hurt on the prongs. When I removed it to rake the leaves the boys started playing with it so I stuck them to the handles of the trash can and then decided to use the noodles on each picture just for fun.

  2. Just for fun is a good reason! I hope your Christmas was a good one!

    1. I know I get long-winded at times in my replies. However, I figure if one person has a question perhaps another person does as well but many are shy about commenting or as some have e-mailed me to say that the process to sign-up on Google is too difficult.
