My little Walter

It was a napping day for the boys

It was raining and cold this morning.  I looked out the kitchen window but did not see any of the cats.  I went to the side door and Paquito and Nico rushed in.  I served them their breakfast and then went outside to find the black cat but he was nowhere to be found.

As I passed one of the cuchas I heard a faint meow.  As I got closer he peaked out and boy he looked worse than he usually does.  If fairness he looked just like most people do when we wake up. He seemed upset about having been awaken...

He hissed at me but quickly realized I was the bearer of food and allowed me to place a bowl of food inside of his cucha. He ate it and went back to sleep for hours!

It stayed cold today and I did not want the boys to come into contact with the black cat so I allowed them to come into the mud/laundry room.  I even set up two new cuchas for them.

This evening they were still there but when I turned on the light Katie rushed out as she for some reason is still afraid of me and Paquito followed her.  Only Nico remained in his new cucha as he was very sleepy.

He is still here...

With the black cat around I can no longer feed the boys outside so like it or not I had to bring Paquito into the kitchen. I had seen Nico earlier but he saw the cat and left.

As I mentioned yesterday I have been feeding him by dad's old car to keep him away from the back porch.

When the sun came out he decided to sun himself...noticed he drinks a lot of water.  Poor cat he can always hunt for birds or a mouse but he can't open the water faucet.  I will NEVER deny an animal water.

I found him yesterday morning on top of one of the cucha's (Spanish for cat bed)  that he managed to dent.  I do not know if he went inside of it...either way, it and the bedding are going in the trash on Wednesday he has open sores and I don't want him to infect the boys.

Here he is behaving himself as he had just finished eating and did not feel the need to chase me. It is difficult to photograph him as he is so dark.

Houston we have a problem...

I made a post after I got back from Terlingua about a black cat that kept on eating my boys' food.  At the time I thought he might have been their father since they did not run him off and were actually afraid of him.

It is because of this darn cat that I changed their feeding station to the back bathroom/shed/junk room and then got into worst trouble when it attracted two possums and a raccoon.

Well, this darn cat showed up again on Friday. I did not know what time I would be back so I left the boys' food on top of the old washing machine only to find him eating it while the cats just looked at him with disdain.

Up close I could see why...this cat is homely...I do not mean that in a bad way but you can tell he has had a rough life.  One eye is pretty much gone, he has open wounds, his hair is falling off and he hisses at everyone.

Here he is hissing at me...

He is in really bad shape...

Even his tail looks like it has been bitten...

I grabbed the boys and brought them into the kitchen where I could keep an eye on them until this cat left but he would not leave!

He was pretty thirsty and was drinking the boys' water so I dumped it in case he was sick and would transmit it to them but I gave him clean water in an old container.

He won't leave and now he chased me all over thinking I am going to feed him every time I go outside!
