My little Walter

Another day of riding

Looked out the kitchen window this morning and did not see Walter.  Thought perhaps he might be up front by his owner's house so I went to investigate but did not see him, his horse trailer or the newer truck his owner is currently driving.

Uneaten hay

Became a little concerned because yesterday afternoon he did not look good.  His eyes were sad looking and he wasn't himself.  Then I saw that he had not finished eating his hay something he never does.  Thought perhaps 1) he was sick and they took him to the vet or 2) his owner was in such a hurry he did not even let him finish eating.

Later in the afternoon I saw he was back in his corral.  He was eating what he did not get to finish this morning. He still had the saddle marks on his back and he looked dirty.

Tonight is going to be very cold.  At first when I did not see him this morning I was hopeful that his owner had taken him to his nephew's house so at least he could keep warm being close to other horses but alas that did not turn out to be the case.

At least he is getting some exercise and for that I am grateful.

My little guy got to go riding

Finally my little guy got to leave that filthy corral of his. Friday, I barely made it to the kitchen window in time to see him leaving at 9:36 a.m. aboard his horse trailer.  He had his saddle on and looked happy.  He returned home at 3:49 p.m. and was served a good dinner.

Saturday at 10:17 a.m. once again his owner took him saddled up.  When he returned I made my way to the corral to see what he was eating and while I was glad they fed him a good portion of hay...he looked absolutely filthy!  He was caked in mud and looked wet.

The funny thing on both occasions was that his owner hauled him in his horse trailer but came back in no time flat but without Walter or the trailer.  That means he did not ride him...so who did?

No Walter...don't eat that!

His owner was home all day yesterday Monday, January 13th and he never bothered to feed him. Ramón (not his real name) has several trucks some of which I suspect he must keep at his place of work but he had two at his house so I did not want to take a chance on him seeing me feed him.

The latest of one of Ramón four trucks

However, around 4:50 p.m. I thought I saw Walter eating so I made my way through the back of our property as not to be seen.  Dang, he was eating alright but not what I wanted him to be eating.  I yelled at him...No Walter don't eat that...but he only looked up and kept right on eating his own feces :-(

It just kills me to see him do that but as lazy as Ramón and his worthless son are...I have long suspected they don't feed him so he can do exactly what he was doing and keep those lazy bastards from having to shovel his waste out of the corral.

I really do not know how the Val Verde County Sheriff's Department do not think this is not animal abuse!

Week ending Sunday - January 12, 2014

Remember I was so surprised last Sunday when his owner fed him twice within a relative short time of the first feed?  Should of know something was up.  Apparently he went to wherever he goes and I guess he knew his lazy teenager was not going to feed Walter before going to school.

Well he did not feed him even after he came back from school or the next day.  I can not believe how cruel that teenager can be.  Yet he and his little brother found time to be playing soccer in the church parking lot

With the new contraption they put in the water barrel I have no idea if it is full or not and if now Walter is not able to flip it over because of it.  At least before he let his lousy owners know he had no water.

I take him water but he turns me down and has tried to flip the water over on me!  His owner came back and fed him on Wednesday morning.  He did not get fed Friday and Walter was at the end of his corral closer to their house moving his head from side to side hoping to get noticed, to no avail.  It is so sad that apart from not feeding him they do not pay any attention to him either.

Only one night last week I did not feed him because I had just taken a bath and when I went outside it was just too cold.  I did not want to get any sicker than I already am.

Thanks for visiting Walter's World.

Windy Sunday

It was cold and windy today a sharp contrast from the beautiful Saturday we had yesterday when it was sunny and in the low 70's.  It was so windy I saw Walter lay down against the cinder block fence to block the wind.

I can always tell by his body language if he has been fed or not and all indications were that he had not. Finally at 1:13 p.m. I saw his owner come feed him.  Of course he saw me looking out the window.  He probably thinks I have nothing to do!

Was very surprised that at 5:50 p.m. he came out and fed him again!  I was not looking out the window, rather I was taking a bag to the trash container at the same time he was in the corral.  I am sure he thought I did it on purpose...but what do I care what he thinks!

At least today Walter had a good day, food wise :)
