Trip to Tractor & Supply

Yesterday when I finally drove into town I decided to stop at Tractor & Supply to pick up larger bags of pet food since their associates take them to my car and set them up in the front and back seat so I can easily cut the top with scissors and then fill my five-gallon buckets one at a time as you know I have a bad back and 20 lbs is the most I can carry...though I never push it to that much weight.

I was a little hesitant to go in since there were several cars in the parking lot more than are usually here...well post-pandemic.  I already had my face mask and gloves on before I left the house so headed inside the store.

I grabbed their special cart and quickly got what I needed. I must say that they were well stocked.

On my way out I passed by the chick aisle.  I think for those that know or have the desire to raise chickens now that eggs are so expensive this would be a good time to do so.

Unfortunately, it would not be beneficial for me...too much work!

Mr. Joe (neighbor) has free-range chickens and while in our property their offspring have been eaten by both Paquito and Nico though they had just finished eating...just part of their instinct :-(

Thank you for visiting Walter's World.

  1. I don't like going down the chick aisle... I always want some! It's been a long time since I had chickens.

  2. There are exercises to help strengthen your back. I've had numerous back injuries because others were not paying attention to what they were doing.
I remember my grandfather's chickens and the work involved of course he had hundreds.

    1. I am afraid to do any kind of back exercises without a doctor's approval. I do not have health insurance so when I go seek medical attention I have to pay for it myself...that is why I only go when I am almost on my death bed.
