New cat beds / Arctic Blast

The arctic blast has arrived in the area. I am so glad I went to purchase my boys and little girl's food yesterday at Tractor & Supply when it was still sunny and warm.  I also decided to buy a formal cat bed to be shared by Bonnie Mae and Mauricio and one for Nico. No, I did not forget about Paquito...I bought a bed for him and his two brothers Nico and Rudy when they were little but Paquito decided that bed was for him and would not let them sleep in it...😕

They only had three colors to choose from and since the boys are black and white decided to instead purchase a pink one for Bonnie Mae and Mauricio and a green one for Nico.

It started raining yesterday so I left the plastic bag it came in so it would not get wet and put a towel and a soft fleece blanket for warmth. I also placed an old mat in the bottom of the cardboard box so it would not move as that box is inside of one of my heavy-duty storage containers I bought a while back to keep the rain from soaking the cardboard box.

Bonnie Mae always sleeps towards the back of the cucha and Mauricio protects her by sleeping in the front.

Their mother Katie has once again been coming around to eat even though darn Paquito ran her off again yesterday and he got a good yelling from his human mama (ME) 😄

Cat Food

When I first went into self-isolation I did it when I was already four days into not leaving my house and before my town declared a shelter in place order.  At the time I had a month to a month and a half worth of cat food.

I also had a lot of rice on hand that I figured I could feed them in lieu of their regular cat food. Maybe it was my cooking ??? they really did not care for it!  Another blog I read made mention of the fact that they order their pet food from Chewy.com looked into it but had to think about how I was going to disinfect two 35 lbs bags.

I could not leave them out by the front door for as you know I have had a problem with possums and raccoons in the past.  When I finally decided to pull the trigger on my order they were out of stock. I remember having spotted some at Tractor & Supply in the past.

This is a picture of them at HEB

So I went to order some but they did not have them in stock would have to be ordered for in-store pick-up

Finally, on April 9th I went to HEB and bought a 16 lb bag since the most I can carry is 20 pounds.  I did not open the bag until this past Friday, April 17th ...all I can say is that it's going fast.

Thank goodness I never had children or they would be FAT children...now I can understand why parents give their kids junk food, candy, etc...anything so they will leave them alone...guilty as charged!

Cat Food / Pooping doves

I bought two bags of cat food on Tuesday when I went to Tractor & Supply.  I like that store since the employees will take my purchases and place them in my car.  I have a bad back and can not lift a lot of weight without throwing my back out.

Unfortunately, it was very hot so I left them in my car and did not open them until late this afternoon...well at least one of them...the 44 lbs one.  Like I previously mentioned I have a bad back so I cut it open and then used my 2.5-gallon bucket to bring the cat food into the house where I store it in 5-gallon buckets.

I washed my car on Tuesday but we have had a lot of wind lately and those darn doves that hang out in the garage/carport pooped all over it.  That is the main reason I do not mind if the boys eat them as snacks!

Finally made my way to Tractor & Supply

Yesterday I finally made my way to Tractor & Supply to stock up on cat food. While I still have cat food I did not want to pass up on an additional 15% savings with my coupons.

While there decided to take advantage of 10% off everything and bought some horse pine pellets.
