Cat Food

When I first went into self-isolation I did it when I was already four days into not leaving my house and before my town declared a shelter in place order.  At the time I had a month to a month and a half worth of cat food.

I also had a lot of rice on hand that I figured I could feed them in lieu of their regular cat food. Maybe it was my cooking ??? they really did not care for it!  Another blog I read made mention of the fact that they order their pet food from Chewy.com looked into it but had to think about how I was going to disinfect two 35 lbs bags.

I could not leave them out by the front door for as you know I have had a problem with possums and raccoons in the past.  When I finally decided to pull the trigger on my order they were out of stock. I remember having spotted some at Tractor & Supply in the past.

This is a picture of them at HEB

So I went to order some but they did not have them in stock would have to be ordered for in-store pick-up

Finally, on April 9th I went to HEB and bought a 16 lb bag since the most I can carry is 20 pounds.  I did not open the bag until this past Friday, April 17th ...all I can say is that it's going fast.

Thank goodness I never had children or they would be FAT children...now I can understand why parents give their kids junk food, candy, etc...anything so they will leave them alone...guilty as charged!

Thank you for visiting Walter's World.

  1. Overfeeding cats is the same as "Loving them to Death". The cats also need to have some exercise and limited portions.

    1. It is easier said than done with four cats. In particular Paquito he eats more than the other three combined. I tried to ration his portions to stretch my supply but he did not go for it.

I have no say so in how much exercise they get as they are outdoor cats and mother has a lot of land where they can run and chase each other to their hearts content.

At least at night I know they exercise as they climb up on the roof and run around.

  2. That is too funny about limiting a cat. The cat will win the argument every time!
I hope you can get one of those stores to give you a curbside and also load the bags into your car. I agree about people adopting animals now, only to abandon them in the near future.
    That Paquito is so cute.

    1. Penelope let me first apologize as I have been having problems with Blogger notifying me when I have comments in moderation. I figured it was only happening in my other blog.

Here it is May 9th and I just now looked in the moderation file and found yours and another blogger's comment.

You are right there is no way to limit a cat. Yesterday I finally was able to make a quick trip to Tractor & Supply. Again my apologies.
